Vegan Inspector is an app that quickly and easily shows you whether a product is vegan or vegetarian.

Features:

• Barcode scanner: Scan a product's barcode and instantly get information about its vegan or vegetarian status.
• Minimalist user interface: Just the essentials: scanner and results.
• Open API & data sources: Our API is open source and draws data from OpenFoodFacts, with additional sources to be added in the future.

Network access:

The app only connects to the internet when a barcode is scanned. No connections are made on startup or in the background. The following services are contacted:

• api.vegan-inspector.app: the open-source backend API that looks up / proxies product data
• images.openfoodfacts.org / static.openfoodfacts.org: product images and data from OpenFoodFacts
